Why are your 2nd Amendment rights important?

Specifically, why is it more important than all the deaths very clearly causes?

Congress absolutely does have the right to regulate and remove your rights. They do it all the time.

All of my right are important. I and many more like will not simply give them up when we have done no wrong. There are literally millions of gun owners who go about their lives without hurting anyone. It’s been proven statistically that licensed conceal and carry are the safest most law abiding segment of the population. Depending on what state you have probably walked by hundreds of people carrying guns and never knew about it.

It’s been repeatedly proven in recent court cases that states or congress do not have the right to pass restrictions on 2A. If you want to change that go ahead and try to pass an amendment repealing the 2A.

But why is it important for you to have guns?

[–] Dead_or_Alive@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don’t need a reason. I simply have the right to own them under the constitution.

No, you said that all your rights were important, and compared it to rights that obviously are important. I'm saying that the right to have guns is nowhere near as important as the right to free speech. I'm asking you to justify the statement you made.

Why is it important for you to have the right to own and use guns with no meaningful restrictions?
