I never really watched adventure time as a kid but I'm really enjoying this new Fiona & Cake show.

The themes/violence seem darker/more brutal than what I would expect from a kid's show. I'm not sure if Adventure Time was like this.

Adventure time has plenty of moments that were very brutal and dark for a children's show.
