I know the hop spot on the Windsor side but wouldn't be able to help on the states end unfortunately. Never ever ever ever attempt to board a moving train, you are way more liable to die than anything trying, they're big andoving faster than they look like they are caus they're big. It'd like a don't set fire to yourself no matter how cold you are level of don't fucking do it. You've gotta sneak into the rail yard and hide on the train prior to departure and all make fucking sure you're on one going the right way, for a short distance that'd a little easier to tell with the direction they're pointed but it's best you know the schedules and trains before you sneak in for this Intel ask the scariest looking punk you can find, they're all train nerd. If you do fuck up, sneaking off a train and getting back the other way is easier. Once you're riding you also need to make sure no one sees you, so watch when the tracks curve and stuff, you can be caught in rear view mirrors way easier on a curve if you're in the open. Generally everyone is inside the train so you're fine to kinda just move about freely when it's moving.
Might want to file away some info on trains that go up into BC
Don't think it'd come to that for me, but it wouldn't hurt to know
