I'm a bit worried I'll never feel at home with a name ever again
But I'll wait a couple weeks before fully dooming.
It was a little weird for me the first while, it's a new name, I wasn't used to it.
My ears still perk up when my dead name is said (like referring to someone else lol), but the same thing happens with my actual name now too. It was a slow process, you get used to it, eventually you'll wake up and realize you've gone by your name for a few years and most of the people you talk to only refer to you with it and may only know you by that name.
I used to beat myself up about being weird around my deadname, now I just kinda live with it. 15 years since I changed it and still I get nervous around certain people because of their name
it took me a year and a half to settle on one and i'm still a little flighty about it sometimes.
not reassuring i know, but you're not alone at least if that ends up being you too. i hope you find something though!
