Shitting on the most popular musician in the U.S., possibly the world, helps him?

[–] shoulderoforion@fedia.io 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

yes. if you haven't parsed out the dead cat protocol, simply by watching this idiots actions in the past 8 years, here is boris johnson spelling it out (energy and matter can neither be created nor destroyed, they simply change forms) :

"There is one thing that is absolutely certain about throwing a dead cat on the dining room table – and I don't mean that people will be outraged, alarmed, disgusted. That is true, but irrelevant. The key point, says my Australian friend, is that everyone will shout, "Jeez, mate, there’s a dead cat on the table!" In other words, they will be talking about the dead cat – the thing you want them to talk about – and they will not be talking about the issue that has been causing you so much grief."

this is all trump has, and every reblog and repetition only assists him, because it pushes harris out of the news cycle. seemingly bright people still don't understand it, even after so much time, and trump doing the same exact this over and over again. dude is close to winning another term as president, because he does THIS exact thing.

Wow. You think Trump is smart.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

He doesn't have to be smart to use this tactic to get attention back to him. If he was smart, it would be a topic that would retain attention longer and not be so obviously narcissistic.

You do know there's such a thing as bad attention in an election, right? This is it.

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

If that's what he is doing he is going about it very poorly. Hating on the most popular and well liked American, with a notoriously passionate and dedicated fan base, is guaranteed to cause his campaign problems. This is going to cost him votes.

His diaper got full, he had to shit somewhere...

This is 2024.

No attention is bad attention. Literally all that matters is you stay in people's phone feeds, in front of their eyeballs. So yes... this is helping Trump, as the attention opportunity cost is literally anything but Trump.

I'm sorry, that's ludicrous. People don't want to vote for someone more just because they see them more. That's not how anything works. Elections, even in 2024, are not "look at me" contests.

Dude, c'mon, McCartney is still alive.
