Human Rights Campaign, so old and crusty I had to look it up to refresh myself.
You will see many variations on "lgbt" and other terms in old writings though which is funny.
I donβt know a lot about HRC and didnβt realize they were bad. Now I feel embarrassed for posting their LGBTQ friendly employers list in tracha :(
Nah you're okay, still a worthwhile resource, just dunno if they'd bother checking for transphobia. But queerfriendly may often mean trans friendly, so no big
Unfortunately, they are still around and still count on electoralist respectability politics bs, even though all major advances for queer rights were either won in the streets (Stonewall riots), during prolonged direct action campaigns (ACT UP) or in court battles, and were always pushed foward by more radical queers who were either inclusive of trans people or trans themselves. HRC has at least dropped the open transphobia by now, but they still have no better ideas than voting harder, even though they should be old enough to remember those more successful than them in resisting the dictatorship of cishetnormativity.
I'm disappointed but not even slightly shocked. Those big orgs usually seem pretty lib to me, like didn't GLAAD take a similar stance a while ago?
