bad vibes - Question?
kind of without orientation for what to do with my life. I have gotten a "useless" degree (only the feds take me and it's doubtful I can get into academia) - I have enoug money to get a second degree, but that one has to pay me for the rest of my life. Vexed enough to throw it into the transgender mega at this pointbad vibes
Party experience was HELL (not the cool parties), I got bullied out of voluntary union activism for being an insecure and isolated trans woman some time ago, I am doing much better now, but idk what to do there eitherspoiler
Is there a specific career field you are wanting to get into? A lot of places don't actually care what your degree is in, just that you have one. Granted, a relevant degree can look better. Also, a masters doesn't have to be exactly in the field of your undergrad, so might be worth considering. Also, sometimes HR payscales are dependent on degree level.I have always wanted to get into academia - I am trans and autistic as fuck and this is the one place where I haven't been treated like steaming garbage - but no one is getting tenure
Hopefully we make academia a much more secure career path. The number of job openings is dwarfed by applicants and even if you can make it past that, the endless grind for grants to fund research is abysmal.
Oh, it gets even worse where I am located - there is a limit on how long you can be employed without tenure (you could also get any other long-term job in academia besides professor - which doesnt exist)
