Yeah, it's kind of the nature of the beast. Once things start falling apart then it creates an environment of discontent that opportunists exploit, and you start getting feedback loops that accelerate the collapse.

If the Cuban Missile Crisis is any indication

If anything, current US govt is more unhinged and aggressive than the one which put missiles in Turkey.

Particularly ironic because the Cuban missiles were also in response to the US doing the exact same goddamn thing in Eastern Europe.
