I'd say that it'd be hilarious if China did that but I don't want to die in a nuclear armageddon. US is the definition of can dish it but can't take it.

Yeah, it's kind of the nature of the beast. Once things start falling apart then it creates an environment of discontent that opportunists exploit, and you start getting feedback loops that accelerate the collapse.
