Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Ours are already. You pay us, mexicans, 16x times less the salary of an american citizen (for the same product, quality, service, time and efficiency) just for being mexican. A lot of us are dying out of poverty, violence is increasing and so on. We could've used that extra flow of income to lift the country up, but you preferred to keep us bent over in a ditch.

This form of racism and assholery, I have personally experienced it a lot with christofascists and republicans. They think they are the shit, the best, above everyone else, their ego is so fucking inflated, their patriotism too and so is their greed.

Yeah dude, that life is already here and it's touching your ankles already. Look at all those drugs addicts and young people with no homes in your country. You consider them a pest, annoying, disgusting, a nuisance, but they are your children lol, your people. Your lack of humanity is what creates and inspires people like our local narcos to poison you with fentanyl and more. Thank you, dude, for being so evil, for not having the empathy to think or imagine what's it like for those that are so close to you. Maybe someday you or your children will taste it too, I hope.

I'm with you until the last part, I've tasted it, and I wouldn't wish it on DJT himself. I understand the emotion, but there's a better way homie

Hey, I appreciate you at least. At my old job they had a big office in Monterrey, and they were some of the most hard working teams I had the pleasure to work with. I absolutely lost my shit if anyone treated them any differently and I hated how the company ran that division. Working with those teams is the only thing I miss.

The fact that they always had to get permission for any time off from the team leads, were scrutinized for every cent, and often not even given the tools they needed for their job, all in the name of "saving" money, was absolute bullshit. There really were some ridiculous double standards. We never denied time off and purchased what you needed. We knew how shitty the system was and did what we could.

So, one shitty American to an awesome Mexican, thank you. For every cook, every maid, field slave, factory worker, engineer, installer, and human from your country that just wants to exist somewhere safe, feed their family, and have a roof over your head, thank you.

do you plan to resolve any of your problems, real or perceived, with ar15?

If brown shirts start lynching my neighbors for being a certain race, do you have any better suggestions? Should I scold them, ever so sternly?

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

here, you can run in circles yourself, you don't need me for that.

Thanks for not even considering what I asked.

reload, or fix your instance redirect, or w/e, and you'll see i did

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I don't see a reason to bother.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

and i do believe you you don't really see it 😆 the fact you don't understand why it is funny makes it even funnier 😂

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Ok, whatever.

So what should I do if white supremacists start hanging minorities again? Serious question for which I would honestly appreciate a serious response.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

"Ok, whatever." said person who in ten seconds demanded "serious response" 😂

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I asked you a question, and you went down this weird rabbit hole instead. I don't know what you're talking about and I don't care. But I asked you a serious question before that, and you've avoided it entirely.

Good day to you.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee -2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

I don’t know what you’re talking about and I don’t care. But I asked you a serious question before that

  • you don't know what i am talking about
  • you don't care
  • you asked serious question

why have you asked serious question if you don't care what i am talking about?

we are talking about a fact that people fighting for their lives in ukraine and some redneck joe who needs automatic weapon as a fashion accessory to his monster truck are two different groups, where one of them needs the weapon and the other one does not.

you are desperately trying to steer the discussion away to bullshit details by pretending to have deep interest in whether the people fighting for their life should be called military or not and demanding "serious answers".

here is the serious answer.

guerilla in ukraine needs the weapons, no matter how it is called.

redneck joe doesn't need and shouldn't have the weapons, because - ding ding ding - he is likely to be the fascist you are so afraid of. if you think you will fix the problem by throwing more guns into it, think again.

not one time in the history of mass shootings in the us was "bad guy with weapon" stopped by "good guy with weapon". your illusion you will protect yourself is just that, an illusion. if someone decides to kill you, he will shoot you in the back and you will not see that coming.

i don't have a solution to fucking us weapon problem, if i had, i would be collecting my nobel peace prize. but it is experimentally proven that more weapons is not a solution to a problem - more weapons is the fucking problem.
