Which games are the worst offenders for letting you upgrade a character/inventory only to lose it all part way through the game. in c/gaming@level-up.zone

Literally one of 2 reasons my wife and I dropped that game half way through. The other was no cross progression for coop. What a fucking stupid mechanic. Flying in a plane, on our way to collect some goodies? Somehow some fucker knocks us out. The first 2 times we got ambushed we were in a well defended area, thinking we got this. Hate that game so much now

Haven’t had that kinda experience outside of FF7remake. Got Baret his melee weapon and fell in love with the play style. Every opportunity I was using him. Then I got to the end of the game and became so salty because I wanted to fuck sephiroth up with my claw, and couldn’t. My wife couldn’t stop laughing at my misery.
