Check out Typst and its flake! Really nice, a lot simpler than latex. here's my template https://git.sr.ht/~imadnyc/nix-templates

If you put a chat on your scratchpad, you can toggle the chat floating on top of all other windows and then put it away. I'll maybe put up a demo later

Yeah, systemd-init. Pretty sure the GUI installer uses systemd-init -- never broke once for me.

Yup, figuring out how to install gcc 10 was a pain. Turns out I needed stdenvgcc10, but how would I have known that without reading like the entirety of nix pills? I don't want to read a manual for 2 hours to figure out how to do something basic. Not to mention nix pills is SO dense that as someone who can't learn from textbooks, its impossible.

I agree with velox, and it's ((((super) ugly) to) code) in)

I have a terrible habit of watching Youtube while I eat, and then one video turns to ten and I've wasted the entire day. I've tried just not watching it while I eat, but JUST eating is so incredibly boring that I cave in and turn it on regardless. I can't get any work done while eating either, since it takes me out of flow state when I'm working on something. Same with something like reading - it takes too much concentration to be done at the same time enjoyably.

What do you guys do when you eat?

I like IEMs and love that I can swap cables on them if they get damaged, but I can't keep having to buy new IEMs once I inevitable break or lose one of them because of the cable. My first pair, which had MMCX cables, I lost one of the sides because the MMCX cable had become loose and I was running and it dropped out, and I couldn't find it again. My second pair, which was a 2 pin connector, I had wanted to listen to music in bed with it, and when I woke up one of the pins had been lodged in the IEMs itself and I couldn't get it out for the life of me. Now, I'm back to cheapo soldered headphones, which is fine, but the sound quality was definitely better when I spent close to 100 dollars on the IEMs previously. Does anyone sell headphones with a locking mechanism, so that the stress of movement goes to the housing of the connector and IEM instead of the connector itself?

Here, https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Fusion-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B0897THHDJ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1QO66HKB6O2R7&keywords=fusion+pro+controller&qid=1696711417&sprefix=fusion+pro+controller%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-3, in the second image, you can see that the cable has a locking thing on the controller so that if you yank it out or otherwise stress the cable, it goes to the chassis instead of the USB. Hoping to find something like this.

If it is going to be headphone specific, I would love for it to be in a V shape, since I am a basshead.

Hey,

I am a big proponent of writing in a journal - I think it really helps me unload the scrambled mess in my brain. The thing is though, writing in my journal takes 1-2 hours of my time - not to mention the time it takes to get into the mood to write for 1-2 hours a day. How do you guys write daily / regularly? When I'm on vacation it's super helpful to write in there, and I wish I could do that during the week. Typing is a solution, but I feel like I write with less efficacy since I don't have a lot of time between sentences. My sentences while writing are a lot more well formed, I think.

What do you guys do?
