I also buy the physical disc with the digital copies as well. While the digital version is convenient you can’t beat the physical disc IMO. I have collected over 600 Blu-ray’s and while it’s easy to pull up some of those movies on iTunes. I still find myself grabbing the disc because I can see the difference and especially hear the difference.

I would do a factory reset a 1st gen 4K had a pretty powerful chip. The tvOS might have gotten corrupted. It happened to one of mine with a certain app and once I did the reset it worked fine again no issues to this day.

For budget with high end feels go with TCL, Hisense, or Vizio

I would go with a Vizio M series with QLED which will have all the new features like Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, HDR 10, HLG and you can get a 55 inch for around 350 USD. This will be a huge upgrade over your 10 year old tv and save and get that brand new Apple TV as well.
