Do you really think people who casted their votes this way are blameless?

The Democrats have their fair share of responsibility for not dealing with the reality of what they have to work with and advocating better positions and trying to solve their problems. Significant blame.

But that doesn’t make Trump voters or non-voters not culpable for cutting off their nose to spite their face. It’s still wildly ignorant at best and evil at worst.

Why is that a worrying attitude?

They’re criticizing her for saying “he’s facist hitler” through the campaign as the sole message, and then when they lose, shrugging and treating it like any other loss. “Oh well, better luck next time!”

Babylon Bee’s point is that the rhetoric doesn’t match the actions. If he was Hitler, then why are you handing him the reigns like this is just any other election? Their implication is that the campaign dramatized his impact and demonized him. They’re right about the criticism but wrong about the reason.

He DOES represent the evils they’ve been espousing, and they are laying down and doing fuck all about it except paving him a clear path. Babylon Bee has managed to accidentally write their most non-partisan headline ever by accident, and a scathing indictment of spineless liberalism.

I hate Babylon Bee, but a broken clock & all that.

Either this situation isn’t as bad as they said it would be during the campaign (which is what Babylon Bee is implying) or it IS as bad as they said it is, and they’re letting it happen anyways.

Either way, they’re spineless fucking liars.

It suffers from the “Reality is Unrealistic” trope. Seems so on the nose and heavy handed, yet is literally exactly how it would happen (and is arguably already happening).

Yeah there is a ton of analysis to be done, but I really think the average undecided voter looks at the one choice they have and basically just asks themselves “am I doing ok right now?” If yes, they stay the course. If no, they pull the lever and flip to the other guy.

The bad economy killed them. Kamala breathed some life into the campaign but it wasn’t enough. Is the bad economy their fault? Not really, inflation is bad worldwide post-COVID. But when people can’t feed their families, they blame the people above and use the only tool they have to punish them: cutting off their nose to spite their face.

The real question is, where are all the Democrat voters who didn’t show up, that did show up for Biden? I think a combination of deep rooted misogyny, racism, and a weak message watered down to cater to “centrist” Republicans really hurt them.

The Democrats tend to focus on the undecided voter. They shouldn’t, because those people are basically just motivated by their personal good fortune at that exact time. They should focus on the occasional voter, because that’s who wins them elections.

Yep. I’m in MAU numbers because I logged in twice this month to run Sky Follower Bridge. After the API debacle my average usage went from hours a day to zero minutes per day.

Even with the most favourable, most meaningless statistic he can pull he still can’t show growth or even staying in place.

That’s the beauty, it’s self-defending.

I think if there is anyone I would trust to make that determination, it’s Mike Flanagan.

I don’t give a shit about owning a gun. You’ll pry my sprayer bidet from my cold, dead hands.

I needed instructions on how to downgrade the firmware of my Unifi UDR because they pushed a botched update. I searched for a while and could only find vague references to SSH and upgrading.

They had a “Unifi GPT” bot so I figured what the hell. I asked “how to downgrade udr firmware to stable”. It gave me effective step by step instructions on how to enable SSH, SSH in and what commands to run to do so. Worked like a charm.

So yeah, I think the problem is we’re in the hype era of LLMs. They’re being over applied at lots of things they aren’t good at. But it’s extremism in the other direction to say there aren’t functions they can do well.

They are at least better than your average canned chat/search bot or ill informed CSR at finding an answer to your question. I think they can help with lots of frustrating or opaque computer related tasks, or at least point you in the right direction or surface something you might not be able to find easily otherwise.

They just aren’t going to write programs for you or do your office job for you like execs think they will.

Thunderbolt is for permanently attached expansion (10gb Ethernet, eGPUs, multi drive enclosures, port expansion/docking etc) and USB is for quick connections (USB keys, SD cards, etc).

I seriously doubt anyone will ever use these ports for Thunderbolt devices, because there are very few thunderbolt devices that people use regularly, and if they know what Thunderbolt even is they know to look.

To enroll, go to Software Update and tap the prompt at the bottom.

Device region needs to be set to US, language to US English, Siri also needs to be set to US. I was able to join the wait list from Canada after changing all those settings.

This has been posted all over the place but if you haven’t seen it, this is a huge change.

To get it working, you need all your Apple TVs on iOS 18 DB1. Remove all your HomePods from your home if you have them. Then, you should see the option to turn off “Automatic Selection”. Turn it off and pick the Home Hub you want.

You can then readd your HomePods to your home. This process sounds painful but it’s actually pretty quick, HomePods remove, reset and readd to your Home fairly quickly. This whole process probably only took about 10 mins.

Apparently coming in a dev beta soon, although properly launching in Fall.

Typically more dev & API focused but helpful if you’re encountering an issue and want to know if it’s known, or want to see if there are any known showstoppers preventing you from upgrading.

Always worth a look through for stuff that wasn’t mentioned in the keynote.
