You own property in the state, or consider it your primary residence, you have income from business or investments in the state.

It really varies state by state.

Very professional and normal, not fascist at all.

Cool, none of them care. They’re all gloating. You can judge people all you want, but they won’t do what you want if they have real power over you. You want to make them care? Get power.

In the course of history, what do we know of those who “judged” the people who won? We don’t know much, nor do we care. How about we focus on winning, then it will matter who we judge.

Sorry man, I think you should focus on taking care of yourself. Get into a situation where you can see her as little as possible. Go to therapy. You’ll work through your emotions and feel better in time. It sounds like she is not emotionally stable or mature at all, and you should move on. It’s hard, for sure, but will be better for your mental health and well-being than trying to stay connected to someone who wants to date other people. Once she has flipped that switch in her brain, she’s likely never going to unflip it — except temporarily when she needs something from you, which draws you back in only to get hurt again when she shows what’s really going on for her.

Go get into therapy. Take some time to yourself. Get some distance from her and the situation. You’ll be okay. You will be okay.

WW3 has been underway for about a decade now, it’s just being fought through cyberwarfare, propaganda, and proxy wars.

Biden should’ve joined the primary in 2016. Obama put his thumb on the scale for Hillary that year. As much as I like Obama, the dude has been meddling in the democratic primary process too much.

Also, he doesn’t want Trump to ban EVs, or otherwise put up roadblocks to their adoption.

Certainly, at the presidential level, however I recall Congress having a bunch of “tea party” nut jobs elected that shut down the government over the passage of Obamacare.

I started paying attention in 2000, even though I didn’t really understand it and couldn’t vote, however my first voting election was 2004 and I remember being disappointed when John Kerry lost to Bush, who had already gotten us involved in two wars that would cost trillions of dollars.

My experience has been that Republican administrations tend to be rife with corruption, cut taxes for rich people and run up the deficit.

Eventually, people get sick of the moral decay and tanking economic prospects and put a democrat back in, who tries to undo all the damage, but is blocked most of the time by Republicans in Congress acting in bad faith.

Then, the right wing media environment drums up a load of fear about immigrants and actual lies about the economy to get everyone voting for a Republican again.

That’s the cycle, except the Republican media ecosystem gets more extreme over time, and so do the candidates.

Some states still require you to file even if you don’t live there, but have ties, and may tax your income.

Not if you live in a state with state and local income tax. They capped SALT deductions, so you’re basically paying tax on taxed income.

Isn’t it all the metal detectors at the door?

Love the current icons, but would also always love to see some more!

It's my first time building a computer. I also haven't really done much PC gaming in the past 15 years, except on my Steam Deck. Actually, it is the Steam Deck that has convinced me to invest in a desktop PC with some more power. I like the Linux experience on Steam Deck and would like to stick with that if possible. I haven't used Windows in 15 years either, as I tend to use Mac OS and a bit of Linux for personal and work. Windows seems to just get worse and worse and I'd like to avoid it if possible.

In any case, I went with an AMD CPU because I've heard about Intel's recent corrosion issues. And, chose an NVidia GPU since I'd like to take advantage of ray tracing. I've heard the driver support can be a bit mixed on Linux, but I'm open to trying to make it work unless folks think it really is terrible. Any feedback is helpful.

I’m always surprised by the quality of comments on Lemmy and the analysis provided, often by experts in their field. It gives a sense that the average Lemmy user is a lot smarter than the average member of the public.

Also, when it comes to politics, I think the average Lemmy user is pretty perceptive of what real power dynamics are at play and what interests society should be looking to promote.

It's been a pleasure to be on this platform with you all. Where do you all come from? And why is it so hard to find people like you in the real world?

There can be a lot of junk on Temu admittedly, but it’s kind of fun to find a few deals.

Found a pair of Leatherman Raptor shears ($99 USD) for $12

Also found a Benchmade Follow Up Fixed Blade ($120 USD) for $16

Bought a drone for $15. It’s not high quality, but it’s a drone, for $15. Fun to mess around and learn with.

Anyone else find some deals? Or, got another suggestion besides Temu?

My favorite part is the way my grooming kit and pen fit into my minimalist wallet. Always handy to have a nail clipper, comb, and pen in your back pocket taking up as little space as few credit cards.
