I was speaking for myself, I have no idea why people do it. Didn't say there aren't legitimate reasons, I just don't know any of them

This also isn't only the tech industry, it's any industry. Pushy door to door salespeople aren't in the tech industry.

Why pay for hosting a static site at all when github, cloudflare etc offer free hosting

Install promtail on the system where you want to get the logs from, then configure it with the paths to the log files and the address of the loki server

I think social media, particularly Twitter, has bred this. Twitter is designed in a way that makes it impossible to have an actual structured debate and instead encourages short and unambiguous statements which cannot possibly accurately encapsulate an issue

Yes they can, and regularly do? Obviously they can't feed themselves but I think you know the difference between that and not being viable to live
