Its a three way tie between Ocarina of Time, the LOTR games on ps2 and GameCube, and Super Mario Sunshine. I could go on and on, but those are probably the most prominent in my mind.

Graphics/cinematics or micro transactions, sometimes both, over good writing, gameplay, and overall stability. We used to get games that were good and complete, with extra stuff you could UNLOCK, not buy. Games peaked 12-20 years ago.
