I’m still not absolving voters for falling for such snake oil though

I don't like it when people blame those who voted for Trump, like "if you voted for Trump, you should die". In working democracy though, it would be possible to cancel election, re-count votes anyway, to right away impeach Trump, etc. like in Romania:

'Global South' sounds like some right-wing term. LMIC (low middle-income country) is better.
