how awfully unconservative. !

it's an interesting one - i thought they might do something. free money for homeowners which inturn goes straight to the bank is exactly the kind of this government does. it would also 'support' a bunch of speculators who are about to bite the dust.

if we could weather a sharp down turn, it would help cull the greedy.

I picked up a permanent ban, after 15 years for saying 'Go outside fatso' to someone who said I couldnt read. Not my proudest moment, but there you go.

The reason I mention it, is that it adds a different dynamic if they are trying retain (and prevent me from editing) data which they hold about me. They might argue that doesn't extend to post where I've written "cats > dogs" - but anything where I've refered to where I live, whether I have kids, what my political views are, are all clearly personal details which they are not allowed to hold without retaining my consent.

it is the unavoidable point if you insist English Lit should avoid difficult topics in order to instil the joy of reading, because literature is filled with harrowing stories of people behaving inhumanely towards one another.

at the same time, arguing that difficult topics should not be avoided but taught carefully, does not mean i do not empathise with those affected.

its silicon valley baby ! you haven't needed a profitable, sustainable model for decades. you need a big mouth, a slide deck and the phone numbers of a few suckers with lots of money.
