They know they're gone so trying to (1) extract as much money as they can now and (2) fuck up the country as much as possible so labour have a harder job in the hope they can get elected quicker.

No aims to improve the country as a whole, or the people within it in any shape or form. They should be kicked out of the country and sent to Jersey or cayman Islands.

If you watch various videos people posted on social media and not just the news ones (which also showed the same to be fair), it's really obvious they were looking for fights constantly. They were far right supporters and the old style football fans, drinking heavily and geared up for a fight (balaclavas, weapons etc). They really targeted the police, trying to goad them with chants and look for points of weakness in the lines, and it felt like the majority of people there were doing it or supporting those who were. There were almost no women and non white people. One thing I found funny was they were singing "England till I die" in most videos but in one to an obviously Welsh police unit, and they didn't see the irony there.

The march was complete opposite, it was a very diverse group of people, actually mainly women, marching through and chanting peaceful messages. They weren't squaring off to the police who were more on the sidelines. There were some small groups of people ready for fight and squaring off to the police at points or when the counter demonstrators were close but it was such a small minority overall. Even the videos where police took away some of the banners were quite civil. The protesters were arguing back with words only and no pushing and shoving.

I have to say, the police seemed to get it right and helped keep things as peaceful as possible considering the tension. A lot of eyes were on them. It seemed like half the protestors had cameras and there were tons of journalists looking for action.

Why did he leave then straight away and dissappear from public life? He's completely arrogant and only cares about power. Why didn't he have a plan is it did go wrong? He's grossly incompetent. Any half decent government should prepare plans for even unlikely situations if they are possible and would cause so much damage.

I am really coming around to the fact that mopeds should be more common. The trouble is, it feels dangerous until car/van/trucks reduce in number, which is a catch-22.

I am thinking of getting one for my commute as just started a new job where it is possible to go on public transport but takes twice as long and lots of changes. Its just awkward placement really rather than the lack of transport, as have to criss cross. It does blow my mind how everyone is driving around tanks just for one person to travel (as cars have gotten noticeably bigger), it just doesn't make sense!

The US position puts me off a written constitution and I think we're better off trying to make sure politicians and connected parties are held accountable to act in certain codified ways. I am afraid that having written laws actually makes it easier to find loopholes. Who knows though, nobody seems to have really cracked it!

Does the Web app work offline at all? I use thunderbird currently partly for this but also partly for my calendar which I'm still transitioning from self hosted caldev to proton calendar

This is horrifying. It's interesting what/ who they use their powers to target. The most committed crime is probably speeding so would they ask Google maps how fast you were going? Probably not as it would catch too many of their own but women with unexplained abortions...

On the flip side, although still want to stress this is horrible what they are doing, I am kind of curious what is happening when by my understanding, abortion is fairly easy to get here and is free. Is it people having miscarriages themselves but trying to keep it quiet from partners/ family, is it people not realising they're pregnant, people changing their mind or is it, as I suspect, mostly actual medical miscarriages but they are chavs or poor so must've done wrong.

I am very hesitant to use them after finding bitwarden (self hosted vaultwarden) so much better than keepass and past experience does say anything new released by proton will take a while to be full featured 😀 .

I understand your pain though. I setup my wife with it but can't convince her to actually use it, despite her getting regularly frustrated with forgetting passwords... I keep saying to people it is so much better than not having one as it fills it automatically and is much more secure but for some reason, people think I'm the crazy nut for using one.

I'm hard to buy for as I just get what I need during the year when I need/want it and not really fussed about unnecessary crap so everybody just buys me rum, it's great! Means I don't have to buy any myself for a few months and they sometimes get me nicer or more interesting stuff than I'd buy myself. My wife often gets me a rum advent calendar which is great to find new rums!
