it's the yahoo news comments, that's pretty bottom-of-the-barrel.

We'll see as the case occurs in court I guess.

I see the NYT is now cracking down on using the internet archive to read their articles.

It's just the obvious thing. C and C++ don't have safeguards against dangerous programming mistakes. Programming languages exist that do. There are to this day still software vulnerabilities being caused by subtly incorrect code that C and C++ require being treated as legitimate.

insane punishment. life without parole???? I wonder if he can get that reevaluated at some point, especially give he's some right-wing white shmuck.

In a letter read in court by the victim’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, Paul Pelosi called for the maximum sentence, saying the “last peaceful sleep” he had ended abruptly “when the defendant violently broke into my home, burst into my bedroom and stood over my bed with a hammer and zip ties demanding to see my wife, yelling ‘Where’s Nancy?’”

In a statement after Tuesday’s sentencing, the Pelosi family said that after a grueling two years, “legal justice has been served.” “Today’s sentence of life without parole gives our Pop some measure of legal justice and, we hope, a message to others that political violence against elected officials or their family members will not be tolerated, minimized or condoned,” the statement said. “We must each do our part to build a peaceful democracy.”

lol politicians and their families are psychopaths. Paul Pelosi got some nerve damage and they're like "we're so glad he got life in prison". And creepy vibe from "peaceful democracy" requiring sentencing people to life.

Nancy Pelosi has so much blood on her hands as a high ranking American politician. Oceans more blood than presumably the small and literal amount that the attacker got on himself.

Even boomers is mostly referring to well-off white people (and some people of other backgrounds) who have reaped the rewards of the emergence of the American Empire as the global superpower. It's really a label about wealth, not just being born somewhat soon after WWII.

At around 7 minutes in she lists what other heads of state are there.

Up until 3 years ago I guess (thought it was more recent tbh), it would show blurry images instead of vector maps and satellite, but it looks like it's detailed now.

Previously I think Google had to comply with some protectionist policy that South Korea had in place so that people would use South Korean maps, or something like that.

If so, looking forward to it.

Jordan is so weird man. Whitest looking leaders ever. At 3:31 it looks like he has a literal child (who looks like Timothy Chalamet??) as a representative of Jordan.

Seems like a cool organization. It looks like it has over 90 countries as members, including Cuba, Russia, Iran, China, Vietnam, etc.

Israel is still listed on the members page and the competition this year already just happened, so lets see if they actual commit to banning Israel by the time the next one comes around https://ioinformatics.org/page/members
