Speaking as someone from Edinburgh, where our most famous statue is a life-size terrier dog that's all of twenty centimetres tall, I strongly approve of this statue. It's quite a long walk out of town and then when you get there, "little" is definitely one of the first words that comes to mind.

Think you're understating it there. Network call takes milliseconds at best. Function call, if the CPU has correctly predicted the indirect branch, is basically free, but even if it hasn't then you're talking nanoseconds. It's slower by millions of times.

I know you jest, but I'm going to guess it's for the same reason that the RPCS3 developers didn't just concentrate on the 'popular' games. If they know that all the janky broken games work properly, then they'll have confidence that there's no subtle issues hiding in the nearly-perfect ones. A rising tide lifts all boats.
