Schnoodle is one of the things that I miss from Reddit. Not enough to sign back in, but those poems did make me smile and even shed a few tears occasionally.

Wow, that's faster than I thought. One hour to prep gives a few hours of heat. If you're making your own bread dough, you're probably waiting for the final rise while you stoke the oven.

Thanks for the info. I've heard they take a while to heat up. How much time do you need to fire it up and preheat prior to baking the bread?

Brings back memories of our caravan/hiking trip in Tasmania. We saw quite a few fairy wrens in the campgrounds. The colour of these birds is surreal, so brilliant that they are almost cartoon-ish. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so jealous of that outdoor wood-fired oven. I have some homemade sourdough pizzas that would be marvelous baked in that beauty.

Go Lemmy. I'm actually okay with how it is now. Lemmy feels like an exclusive club where the members are more inviting and accepting than Reddit ever was.

Cute little tuxedo

He climbed up the 8 foot gate to catch his prey. Poor little mouse didn't stand a chance.

We have a number of large piles of rotted wood chips on our land from about five years old when we had to clear a few trees. They produced quite a few two years ago, then nothing last year with the dry fall in our area. We're happy to see them again.

No banana on hand so used apple for scale. Vancouver Island

Banana for scale. I was a little late to the party as it looks like something munched on it.

Found beside our raised garden bed on Vancouver Island. Not sure species, any guesses from the experts out there?

This is my first photo posted on Lemmy so excuse the amateur effort.

Enjoy that beauty while they're still in kittenhood. They grow up so fast!

Along with the occasional comment and vote, I talk about Lemmy with friends and encourage them to join, especially those still suffering with that other site that shall not be named.

"Yet" because I have a couple of work trips coming up this fall. Commercial airplanes are flying Petri dishes of viruses and bacteria. The worst illnesses (flu and colds) I've had historically were following air travel.
