In the middle of my backswing, General?!

I just looked at the current offerings from Newsdemon and the deals are not nearly as sweet as the plan I'm on. I suspect that your best bet for a long-term subscription would be to wait until Black Friday, but there are plenty of providers with cheap blocks or monthly plans to play around with.

It's been a couple years since I set it up so I couldn't tell you what's the best deal these days.

I use Newsdemon's 2tb/mo plan (Black Friday deal, it's almost free it was so cheap) and a Blocknews block for completion. I don't have any issues with downloads being incomplete but YMMV.

Nzbgeek indexer (lifetime sub), Sabnzbd downloader, and the full *arr suite for automation, and an Emby server running on my NAS.

I'd rather pay for a decent Usenet backbone and use exclusively SSL downloads than rely on a VPN with torrents.

You don't want a free VPN. I'd cough up for Mullvad if I was going that route.

Check out Syncthing. It works pretty painlessly.

The Youths™ prefer short attention span, rapid gratification things like TikTok/Snapchat/Instagram/Facebook video reels... generally.

Cursive with the oddball printing letter thrown in will always be my preference. It's just plain faster than printing.

Gaming works surprisingly well. The last few years have made it a one-click affair for thousands of games with the efforts of the Proton team.

The titanium kit only took about ten minutes to install. Everything screwed together for the bezel and the bracelet has spring pin links.

The crystal replacement is a little more involved but still largely consists of removing the screen module and then pressing the crystal out and gluing the new one back in. It's not very difficult, especially compared to servicing a mechanical watch.

It was! A sapphire crystal replacement is the last (or next, anyway) thing to do. The mineral glass has a lot of scratches and chunks out of it even though they don't really show in the picture. This is the watch I wear when I can't bring myself to beat up one of my autos.

Picked up a titanium bracelet and bezel kit in the recent AliExpress sale. I previously had a steel bezel + bracelet on this watch. While the bracelet and case are very well made it feels bizarre to have such a chunky watch feel about the same weight as the original resin parts! The original resin watch weighed about 50g. The new bracelet and bezel are 65g, so even with the module it's only a few g more heavy than the original.

The only reason I haven't is the Pixel OS specific feature set like being able to use text selection/OCR from the task switcher.

Build quality is great (especially for $55 on the recent AliExpress sale). I asked them to swap out the hand set for one with an orange minute. It looks great but the lume on the hands is weak.

Pros:

  • decent jubilee with great end link fitment
  • good dial and date window alignment

Cons:

  • slightly misaligned bezel alignment
  • weak hand lume

There's a titanium jubilee and case coming out soon. I considered this a test run and I am happy enough with it to grab the titanium version when it is released.

Pixel 7. I bought it with the intention of flashing it with Graphene OS or something along those lines but I enjoy the Pixel features so much that I've left it stock.

The Miyota 82*5 is a bit prone to stuttering in the second hand, but it's still a very nice piece. I'm looking forward to the matching titanium bracelet being released.
