In the words of Emperor Palpatine, “Goood… Goood”

Update: well actually when I think about it, I’m not sure who is worse Putin or the Wagner leader.

If Putin lost here, and the Wagner mercenaries are emboldened, the outcome might be worse. Least we know Putin is full of shit. We don’t know that about this other guy

Kinda always wanted to go, but I think my festival days are over if I have to stay in a tent. Glamping at glasto, yeah I would do that but I can’t afford it.

Mine 5 yr fix ends in early 2027, I think if rates are still high I’ll only fix for 2 years next time, it’s a dice roll but I think eventually we will stabilise around 3-3.5% base rate

My employers office is in London, I visit a few times a month and the rest of the time I work at home in the northwest. Really hit the jackpot of jobs for myself. 1hr 47mins to London on the west coast mainline. When I visit I can get the 6.30am train and be at the office before 9

Let’s chat next week about what rules we need to put in place for the sidebar, some obvious ones I can think of but you may have some thoughts you want to share on this. Again thanks for the help!

I am expecting an influx of users after July 1st. Right now there is not a high amount of content to deal with, so I am winging it.

I need assistance with drawing up rules and governing the community. If you moderated a similar sub on Reddit prior to the exodus please message me.

Snippet from the article:

But some investors argue that the big tech companies’ generative AI models will not necessarily capture most value because they are becoming increasingly commoditised and may be outcompeted by smaller open-source models. More money may be made by companies that have proprietary data in a particular industry and can leverage generative AI models to address specific use cases. “That is our investment strategy,” says Hemant Taneja, chief executive of the VC firm General Catalyst.

But VCs are also anxiously reviewing the valuations of their existing investment portfolios, given the disruptive impact it will have on all software businesses. Over the past few weeks, three start-up founders have told me they have had to junk their original business plans because of the launch this year of OpenAI’s more powerful GPT-4 model, rendering their use of earlier versions obsolete. Such is the speed of the technology’s evolution that start-ups and VCs are wary of betting too much on any one generative AI model for fear it will soon seem archaic.

Lemmy Pro Tip

You can find your default views within your profile settings.

Doing this will give you a more reddit like experience.

Buggy looking behaviour observed, when I view a post on another instance or make a post on another instance then go back to viewing it, in front of my eyes, I can see massive disparities in the amount of upvotes and downvotes. Talking a post showing 600 upvotes then a few seconds later, 5 upvotes, then 40 etc

Anyone else? My comments seem to just sit there and the circle icon keeps spinning but the comment never applies. Happened on various sublemmys across a few instances now so wanted to ask if anyone else experiencing the same.

Seems fine locally

Update: setting my profile settings to English has fixed the issue for me
