Hi hi!
Planning my first month long trip in Feb or March 2024 and want to discuss my options with seasoned travelers.
Context: I’m 25 M and I’ve got my Pom/Corgi mix, scooter. I make about 85k USD a year and work for a fully remote company. We have unlimited PTO, hella flexibility and my boss is fully on board. This would be my first time traveling alone.
Desires: fiber internet or decent speeds, walkable cities, vicinity to major transportation hubs (though not a deal beaker), close to nature (rain forest, ruins), and away from tourists. Art history, music and dance are my top priorities. Would love a place with diverse wine or a tequila culture.
Budget: for safety reasons, I was considering an AirBnb for a week or two and wanted to ‘hop around’ subsequently. No more than $800-900 USD is what I feel comfortable paying for a first trip. I’m sure I can find cheaper, any hostel recommendations?
My Spanish is minimal for now, plan to crash course once I have a plan. I’d love to bring my dog and am prepared to figure out logistics for him, any recommendations?
Locations for consideration (in no order):
- Manuas, Brazil
- Medellin, Columbia
- Ushuaia, Argentina
- Punta Arenas, Chile
Open to any other recommendations too :)
