Another recommendation is Joe Abercrombie. His First Law series scratched the ASOIAF itch for me as is is similarly gritty. The full series is 2 trilogies with 3 "stand alone" novels inbetween them, and a book of short stories.

Also Preston Jacobs on YouTube is working on a collaborative alternative Winds of Winter. I really enjoyed their Alayne chapter.

It's from above and he has an ottoman pushed underneath with cushions on. The hammock is suspended but he was a bit unsure at first so it helped him to get up.

He now splits his time between here and the room with the heated floor.

My dots aren't dotting how I'd like as I make at least 2 entries a day (so it does an average), but here's my totals with moods changed to headaches (I used to use it to track fatigue but needed to switch to headaches).

I wish you many more green dots for 2025!

I paid for premium a while ago. I changed the "moods" to "headaches" and I wanted to add more than one entry a day. I used the free version for a ages first and felt the app had proven it was worth paying for. I don't use a lot of the features though.

Can we get this man some help. Not saying he's not an absolute wanker - that's a given - but isn't anyone close to him concerned about his mental health?

He's fallen out with the leader of the far-right Reform UK now, because, apparently that frog-faced fuck Farage does have a line in the sand (at least for appearances' sake), and isn't comfortable with Musk's support for fascist thug "Tommy Robinson".

Hopefully this means no donation (bribe) to Reform UK, but I'm sure that piece of shit will continue to try and fuck with our democracy.

Or Dennis Reynolds

Really good points that I've not seen articulated this well before.

I remember seeing the movie at the cinema when it came out and it really upset me. I cried all the way home and I was still tearful the next day at school. I really struggled to explain to people that no, it wasn't about Leonardo DiCaprio, it was this catastrophic and unnecessary loss of life caused by greed and hubris

I know right? Really annoying.

Ha sorry, I realise I missed out pertinent information! They have it set to auto-rotate and I can't turn it off.

This is the inlaws' rescue cat. She hasn't been with them 3 weeks yet and she's settling in well. It's a still from a video so a bit blurry.

My work laptop/ tablet thingy doesn't give me permission to control rotation, otherwise I would be doing this. Chronic pain and fatigue means I sometimes just need to lie down during work. Luckily I can use speech to text.

Very good advice, thank you. NDN is an animal lover too, so we are both going to do our best.

The good news is, I may be mistaken that she was getting pet stuff delivered as I saw the same vehicle today and they were visiting another house. So hopefully it is the friend of the person who lives there.

Thank you. I've done a web chat with RSPCA and let them know the concerns. I need to find some more details if we need to take it further.

But, I can report that the person I saw delivering the stuff may not have been going to her, as I saw them come and visit a different house. NDN still thinks she will try and obtain animals though, so we are staying vigilant.

My next door neighbour (NDN) just told me about about the new neighbour (renter), who freely told her that she was evicted from her last place for having 19 cats, who she then abandoned. Fortunately, NDN is on the Facebook and was able to follow the local drama and find out they had all been rescued.

New neighbour told NDN she is going to sneak two cats into her new place (she's not allowed to under her rental agreement). NDN begged her not to and said if she must, to get them neutered, but it seems this woman just likes having her cats have kittens. I'm pretty sure she has the cats now as I saw pet supplies being delivered.

I want to do something to help now and prevent the same thing happening to more cats. I don't really care if she's breaking her rental agreement by having two cared for cats, but I absolutely do care about preventing neglect.

I know the RSPCA probably won't do anything and I'm not keen on getting someone evicted either. Any ideas?
