It's a patent lawsuit which might have a better chance than a copyright lawsuit but Nintendo didn't disclose which patent(s) and Pocketpair also doesn't know yet either.

You're right thought that any patent Pocketpair is infringing upon would also have likely been infringed by dozens of other games. Nintendo is just upset Pocketpair made millions with a game that appealed to Pokemon fans and want to ensure nobody else does it again.

The opposition Labour party expressed its strong distaste, protesting the Government’s move by putting out a statement entirely in te reo. Luxon’s office said he couldn’t respond to Labour’s criticisms, as he was unable to read them.Labour leader Chris Hipkins, when asked to explain what his party’s statement said, drew a blank. “Uh… hm… well… uh…” he demurred, staring down at the printout in his hand.

Love it

In the "other references" they link to the bulbapedia article for Pokemon box so I figured thats what the whole thing was about, but yeah it does read like accessing data on a server

My guess is the "Pokemon Box Storage" system since palworld stores pals in a palbox.

They seem to have a patent for "Pokemon Box Storage" and palworld also has a "Palbox" so maybe that?

The majority of people want a balanced budget, more spending on NATO defence, more spending on prisons, no less spending on public jobs or publicly funded institutions, but also want to pay less taxes.

I used to Reddit for memes, lulz and banter but they killed my preferred app and turned the site to shit so I bounced to the alternative, but in the last year this place is becoming increasingly fuckin negative

I have the same experience. It's even worse because I do Linux and FOSS and privacy and vegetarian but make a comment or post at your peril because people love to downvote and argue over literally everything.

I'm honestly surprised he hasn't resigned as party leader and allowed another Liberal MP to take over.

I'm glad Microsoft realized allowing any company to push kernel-level code to consumers was a terrible idea. A bug at that level can brick a PC and needs to be thoroughly scrutinized before being pushed out to end users. If a company dedicated to computer security wasn't doing proper code reviews I really doubt game studios were either.

While it's great they're not going to somehow make it a subscription based game, I'm confused by something else now:

We are still considering skins and DLC for Palworld in future as a means to support development

Didn't this small team just make tens of millions of dollars in sales? An amount the CEO said was "too big for a studio with our size to handle." Why do they need more money to continue development?

I've recently started using the Boost for Lemmy app on my phone and it's amazing. I was using Liftoff before but I'm switching over. However, I've noticed an issue. When I browse through communities using Liftoff I see a lot more posts and comments than when I use Boost.

I figured this was an issue with Boost at first, but when I used my computer to edit these screenshots I noticed the same thing happens in my browser!

Opening up https://lemmy.world/c/boostforlemmy I see all the posts that Liftoff shows. Of course I'm not logged in since my account is on Lemmy.ca.

When I log into Lemmy.ca and view the community though: https://lemmy.ca/c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world I only see the posts that Boost shows! Many posts are now missing!

I figured this is an issue with Lemmy.ca blocking stuff. But wait! The most recent post (titled "Bug: Hiding all read posts also hides...") has the URL https://lemmy.world/post/6954944 which, of course, does not allow me to comment on since I'm not logged in. If I search for that post through Lemmy.ca I find the equivalent post with the URL: https://lemmy.ca/post/7377534 which now allows me to comment on it through my Lemmy.ca account.

Does any one know what's going on here? Clearly Lemmy.ca can "see" all the posts in the BoostForLemmy community on Lemmy.world. Even Liftoff manages to show all of them! So why does my browser and Boost for Lemmy not show everything unless I specifically search it out?
