It’s more people are creatures of habit , if it asked me for a 4 digit pin , I’d use the first 4

You can reset the phone with no pin, but it will erase it

Put the phone into recovery mode , and restore iOS using iTunes on a PC , or finder on a Mac

No, the phones is an extension to the iPhone, it is not a standalone device

You will need an iPhone on 3, EE, Vodafone or O2, the watch will be given a ghost number from the phone
