43 here. You’re probably just as good at the games you’ve always been good at; my skill with games from the ‘80s and ‘90s blows my son’s mind. It’s just harder to learn new things the older we get. You probably also can’t just spend a whole day trying something over and over like we used to when we were kids.

My wife is also a gamer. Path of Exile is our main game, which is a huge time investment so it crowds out a lot of others, but she also plays RPGs, 4X and strategy games, and occasionally dips into other genres. Officially co-op RPGs like D:OS are great for us, but we also commonly play “single-player” games together collaboratively.
