Such a nostalgic album for me

I'm not saying there is no racism or bigotry in Scotland. Unfortunately it's everywhere. Just on a lot smaller scale in Scotland.

I don't think that seeing less people of colour on daily basis is the main factor here. As you mentioned, the inequality and years of conditioning is what triggered this sheepish response to protest against immigration. Let's not forget it all started with a lie that the man behind the awful crime was an extremist Muslim terrorist.

Embarrassing.

I believe (and I'm not Scottish) that Scotland IS exceptional. I have not lived in every country in the world, Europe on even UK but the people are just genuinely nice and welcoming. Racism and bigotry has no footing here. Obviously there are exceptions to that rule, but the general public in places like Glasgow clearly showed what they think of this kind of behaviour. Respect.

It's been for many years that gen-pop of England have been conditioned by the BBC and politics to quickly jump the gun the go to racism for answers.

The main problem is that they (they I mean people that went to protest against immigrants) believe that they fighting the right cause, even though what triggered their response, was a big fucking lie.

This. Its not just one sentence. The whole article is off but this particular claim is just outright stupid.

[–] CoachDom@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago (7 children)

Classic BBC opinion manipulating bs. Some "expert" in the articles even says that the lack of "far right racist extremism" is because the weather is shite in Scotland

Hi guys, I recently took a trip to Italy to see my friend who purchased a 1997 Mercedes about a year ago, which is extremely comfortable and pretty reliable - he swears by it. We got into a chat about advantages, reliability and comfort of the older over newer cars and he got me kinda excited to get into classic motoring. I currently have a 2017 Honda Civic for which I pay a pretty penny every month (its a lease) and my contract runs out in two years. I started looking around for a classic alternative I could maybe get outright cash in hand or with a little help from a financing company. I see a lot of Jaguars XF and X-Type on the streets of UK, I looked them up on autotrader and they can go for anything from about 2k to 10k depending on the milage etc. - still about 5k less than price sticker of my Civic. So here is the question - is it worth looking into? What models/makes I could look into? What should I be aware of? Any tips? Tricks? I’m looking to expand my family in the coming years so a 3 doors sports car are out of the question :) Thanks

Hi guys I just bought an HJC I71 helmet and because its a bit tighter fit then my previous helmet, I wont be able to use my IsoTune earphones anymore. I looked into getting a comm system for this purpose and a guy at my local shop recommended Cardo. Im split between Freecom 2x or going down the integrated route with HJC 21b. Can you recommend any of these or advise against? Thanks

Hi all

Im happy to report that I recently passed my full motorcycle license. Ive been riding for a good couple of years on my 125 and im itching really hard to buy my first big bike.

Found this Suzuki Bandit very local to me and I was wondering if maybe somebody could advise.

Im having second thoughts because its a big engine and because its pretty old.

I was thinking about trying to get this bike down to 2000

Thanks in advance

Hi all I currently have a Honda Civic 2017 (a regular one) but I always wanted a Type R. Looking at used cars market in my country, they are a bit out of my reach at the moment :D Could you recommend any other Japanese cars, that could scratch that itch but not destroy my wallet? Have to be family friendly too as I expect kids :D Cheers

Hi all,

I bought a Sinclair ZX81 on a garage sale some days ago for around 12 USD as a non-tested item as the guy said he had no wires to even try and run it. I have a couple of RF cable kicking about from my Atari 2600 and ZX Spectrum, so I have this basis covered.

According to the manual LINK it takes 9V 700mA unregulated (I'm not sure what it means) 3.7mm jack power supply. I have a 9V DC 1A jack power supply I bought for the Atari (it's not an original one - a unbranded one) and I tried to use it, but to no success. Manual tuning my TV same as with Spectrum and Atari, and no signal.

I was wondering if maybe the power supply is not up to spec? I was thinking that maybe 1mA is too much to power it up? But I went online to look for an unbranded ZX81 power supply and they are running 2A so I'm not sure what's going on here.

Is it busted? Or should I get one of those unbranded power supplies that say they are made for ZX81 to test it?

Thanks :)
