Oh, no! Not girls wearing pants!

[–] exocrinous@startrek.website 15 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Not just any pants, blue jeans! The horror!

[–] GroteStreet@aussie.zone 11 points 7 months ago

I still remember my grandmother telling me she was socially shunned for preferring jeans to skirts. I'm sure she's rolling in her grave right now.

It wasn't long ago when that was a thing. They want to go back.

You can tell this was probably illustrated by an older person or for older people because what kids actually watch TV and what kids even know what rabbit ears are in the US? And that screen is poking out like it's an old CRT with it's big ass hanging out like its trying to exhaust enough heat to cause the heat death of the universe by itself.

If someone told me this came out in the 70s or 80s I'd believe them.

The rabbit ears on the TV are a dead giveaway

I mean, I can't really think of any kind of television media in my youth that didn't teach acceptance and being kind to others. Even the shit that was made for the exclusive purpose of selling toys. So if you're a bigot afraid of your children being instilled with a sense of empathy and tolerance for things different than themselves, I could see how one might think TV is brainwashing kids.

Once a month, I make it my civic duty to go to the park and meet the youth of the day. I fill their heads with glorious thoughts of mutilating their genitals (cause that's what gender affirming care means at that age, right?) and then if any of them are there without adult supervision, I bring them to look at drag queens, all the while telling them, "this could be you; you should emulate this."

It takes a lot of time, but hey, if you wanna invest in the future, you have to put in the effort.

If I have to say /s fuck you.

Upvoted for this glorious line after, to most of us is, crystal clear parody

Really showing their bigot card with the pants. Oh no, girls wearing pants, the horror! Fucking piss babies.

It's such a shame that there's no one to oversee what their kids are watching ....

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

But they can't, the TV is forcing them to be silent!

[–] sablebadger@lemmy.world 17 points 7 months ago

Kids today don't watch TV.

They watch YouTube and TikTok.

The artist was real proud of this and signed their name on it and everything.

Where do I get the free skirts?

[–] MeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.works 3 points 7 months ago

It's probably not too difficult to repurpose old curtains, sheets, or other large area garments that have been discarded. Making a skirt seems like it'd be a lot more simple than most other types of clothing.

Seeing Steven Universe and Gonzo Muppetbabies trying on dresses actually hijacked my brain and forced me to wear dresses, too.

My parents were thrilled since I'm afab
