Interesting how noticing just one makes all of them pop out

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The key is

click to reveal spoilerlooking at the vertical lines only, which becomes easier once you notice that they form a pattern

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's crazy that once you see them, they all pop out. I'm able to easily switch back and forth between perspectives. Neato!

[–] jopepa@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think this is why people that find four leaf clovers find tons of four leaf clovers. I asked my cousin how he does it so well years ago and he said, they look different I’m not sure how else to describe it, they kinda pop out at you. About a month ago I found my first one and now I’ve found almost twenty.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Or maybe it's because you become lucky after finding the first one!

[–] jopepa@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I definitely feel luckier, like now when I drive I don’t feel that burden to wait until a stop light to check my phone or look up every once in a while to make sure there’s no trees or headlights coming at me with their bad luck vibe/s

[–] peterg75@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago (2 children)

No idea what everyone is talking about. I don't see any circles. Is this just one of those "lets see how long these dumbasses will stare at a screen" jokes?

[–] atheist@feddit.de 28 points 1 year ago (4 children)
[–] jerkjaguar@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Damn that just blew my mind! I could not see them

[–] 7u5k3n@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Thanks man.

[–] 15liam20@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Shit-stained balls!

[–] NochMehrG@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago

Now these are useful red circles! Thanks fam!

[–] SneakyWeasel@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Nope, it's real. You gotta unfocus your eyes a bit, but the circles are made of the vertical lines in between the horizontal ones.

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

if you are having trouble, use the Magic Eye trick where you hold it closer to your face and slowly pull it away

[–] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I just want to say that this is not one the those magic eye thingies. This advice isn't helpful here. What does help is telling people that the circles are between those rectangles.

[–] Wutchilli@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Very helpful

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

Or looking from an acute angle

click to reveal spoilerfrom the top or bottom so that the irrelevant horizontal lines blend together

[–] ParanoidAndr0id@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

At first I didn't see them, but then I let my eyes relax a bit then bam! They jumped out at me and more I can't unsee them lol

[–] MJKee9@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] RagingNerdoholic@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 year ago

The even crazier thing is that you can unsee it once you've seen it. Wild!

[–] mtchristo@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wouldn't really call them circles. very jaggered arcs.

[–] LeadSoldier@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

This is the word play that makes this a trick. When we look for circles we automatically look for a curved line. Why wouldn't we? But these shapes aren't circles.

[–] elbarto777@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (5 children)

I know circles and discs are used as synonyms, but I was just looking for the actual curve, or circumference. But if I was looking for discs, then I think I would have spotted them quicker.

Okay, I seriously thought you were screwing with me, and I was a sucker for staring at this image. I thought that maybe since your username is “atheist”, it was a commentary on faith, and the folly of believing in something that doesn’t exist.

Now, a few hours later, I’ve tried again… AND THIS TIME I FOUND THE CIRCLES.

Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ?

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The only thing I see here is eye strain.

[–] School_Lunch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Pro-tip. Get your mind to focus in the verticle lines.

Thank you. This finally worked for me

Unfocuse your eyes a bit, look at the intersections of two boxes, and blink.

The circles are the beveled edges of what your brain keeps telling you are raised trapezoids

[–] Seigest@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Oh dang. That worked

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] NakariLexfortaine@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's not a Schooner! It's a sailboat.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

A schooner is a sailboat, stupid head!

[–] aaaaaaaaargh@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

it might help to focus on the center on the image for a while. Don't concentrate too much, just wait for your brain to recognize the shapes.

[–] StoicImpala@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is what helped me see it. Thanks!

[–] aaaaaaaaargh@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

Glad it worked for you!

[–] DO_wNi_s_U_p@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Finally got there! Great tip.

[–] quadropiss@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I'm one of them

[–] wheelie@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can someone point them out? Maybe circle them.

[–] Captain_Nipples@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Look between the squares and focus your eyes

[–] aaaaaaaaargh@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Took me about 2 seconds but the effect is still really impressive!

[–] DTFpanda@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It took me about 30 seconds before giving up and looking for clues in the comments to help my dumbass out but the effect is still really impressive!
