Is checking bags in the subway a thing?

In New York it is...

Also happens in other locales (i.e. Moscow), to similiar effect.

It's like the 80s all over again with the crime panic with racial undertones.

One has to wonder how long until we get a Death Wish reboot from Hollywood. And never forget it all started with BLM's summer of protest and rage and amped up after inflation occurred as part of the plan of looting the working class to deflect their attention and to increase justification for more police budgets, more loss prevention in stores, more prosecution of shop-lifters, etc. To put a lid on those uppity proles and remind them they're watching, they have their beating sticks out and they'll kill them the moment they get out of line so get back in line, do your job plus your gig work side job, pay more for groceries and keep your head down. And the timing with rising protests against the genocide of Gaza also cannot be missed, a chance to intimidate, to be ready at a moment's notice and to interdict antifa and other types who plan to protest with anything law and order breaking on their way to the event and act and arrest them under the guise of crime prevention.

They already did a Death Wish reboot. In 2018.
