I'm watching my friend play the game for the first time and I noticed/remembered that Steiner's Pluto Knights are all incompetent men (and to some extent, Steiner himself), and Beatrix herself and all her lady knights are all hypercompetent badasses.

This of course went under the radar without complaint at the time, but this fairly minor element would be like months worth of discourse today.

The bumbling oaf guy compared to cool, calm, collected woman badass has been a trope for as long as I can remember but now I'd imagine it'd piss them off pronounjak-rage

Yeah when that trope happens today it causes discourse from those types despite none of them caring before a youtuber told them to be angry about it.

Basically if the male protag isn't a murder fuck machine like Conan The Barbarian and the women in the media have no speaking roles outside of sex appeal it's going to piss off a generation of impotent millennials who don't fuck.

I thought the girls were allowed to talk if they were hot and sexualized but they're saying the new Lara Croft design "looks like a man" now so I guess not.

Gotta enforce the gender role to it's logically violent end.

Man, calling it discourse seems incredibly generous

I tend to use the term pejorativly at this point lmao.

Don't forget non binary icon Quina

[–] Aryuproudomenowdaddy@hexbear.net 5 points 9 months ago

The reason that Quina is blue? That's right. Estrogen.
