Misleading title. This study is about the AMOC, which is a small part of the Gulf Stream. The Gulf Stream as a whole probably wont ever collapse.

What is geoscience?
Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geoscience includes so much more than rocks and volcanoes, it studies the processes that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Geoscience uses tools and techniques from other science fields as well, such as chemistry, physics, biology, and math! Read more...

corporates : wanna bet?
Won't ever? What gives you this security? Hasn't it already stopped temporarily a few times? I've heard the Gulfstream stopping discussed as a possible tipping point several times
I don't mean anything by this personally, but you kinda proved my point. These models are studying the AMOC specifically. There is no indication that the entire gulf stream is collapsing. That's why this post being misleading will end up confusing people.
Don't get me wrong though, this is still extremely bad.
The study can be found here. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-39810-w
I think you have it backwards. The AMOC is a system of ocean currents running through the Atlantic from Antarctica to Greenland, and the Gulf stream is a small part of the AMOC.
This is certainly alarming but the time range of 2025-2095 is a much wider estimate than I was expecting
I live in the southern hemisphere. Not worried about it at all /s
