Hanging with my wife, killing time till next week when we learn if her biopsy is cancerous.

[–] dmention7@lemm.ee 17 points 9 months ago

I know it's a random voice in the void, but I sincerely hope it's benign.

[–] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 8 points 9 months ago

I'm so sorry, that sounds stressful. Crossing fingers and toes for good news!

[–] Lifecoach5000@lemmy.world 8 points 9 months ago

Sorry for y’all worries. Hoping for the best from afar ❤️

The wait is so draining. It dominates every part of your psyche and just makes your entire existence about itself. Don’t forget to exist during the wait.

For yourself, and for your wife - go do something fun that’ll demand your focus for a bit. Best of luck to you both. I hope for good news for you.

Getting buzzed and gaming. Not a great evening.

[–] O_i@lemmy.world 26 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I think that’s a great evening

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 11 points 9 months ago (2 children)

It's okay from time to time. I've been doing it too much recently.

[–] Stache_@lemmy.ml 8 points 9 months ago

Well it’s good you recognize that at least. Moderation is key

I hope you find yourself soon in a place where getting buzzed and gaming is a positive instead of negative

Cheers 🤜

Mentally preparing for a strong acid trip tomorrow. Getting homework done so I don't stress about it etc

[–] AreaKode@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Ground Control to Major Tom. Have a good trip!

Thank you comrade o7. Tripping with a good mutual friend and my girlfriend tripsitting. We have lots of coloring to do

Got recommendations? Going for a workout and I've had a lot of 90s in my playlist recently

[–] ptz@dubvee.org 11 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Not sure if these are workout songs, but:

You didn’t ask me, but I’ll give you my unsolicited recommendation: Jellyfish - Spilt Milk

In a time when grunge was the new hotness, this band released a masterpiece. Catchy ass pop rock - like if you threw Queen, The Beach Boys and The Beatles all in a blender with some modern, polished sensibility. Dang just talking about it makes me want to relisten.

Although it doesn’t sound like it really came from the 90s to me honestly. Ok I’ll shut up now lol

[–] reef@lemmy.ca 6 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

I appreciate the recommendation! Weird I haven't tried this before, I like it :)

Edit: I like 'Ghost at Number One'

[–] Lifecoach5000@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

It’s a real gem of an album if you’re into that kind of sound!

[–] AreaKode@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I would start a Foo Fighters radio. Can't beat 90s rock/alternative.

Drinking beer, doing dabs, and watching Taskmaster with my wife while we eat frozen pizza.

Not a bad evening, really.

[–] Raptor_007@lemmy.world 24 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I’ll bet that pizza will be even better if you heat it up first

I'm sitting in a Red Lobster parking lot because my teenage son and his friends wanted to decimate endless shrimp.

[–] dmention7@lemm.ee 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

As a former teenager, I apologize.

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 13 points 9 months ago

Thanks, but as a former teenager myself, I deserve this.

my tabletop campaign group is cancelled because two people are sick D:

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 10 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Y'all should try using tabletop simulator. My DND group uses it when we can't meet in person and it's wonderful

[–] reversebananimals@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

+1 and there's a lot of good solutions. FoundryVTT, Roll20, FantasyGrounds and Owlbear Rodeo all work well too

[–] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

Oh no! I hope they get better soon so the adventure can resume

A month ago I took a really long shot and actually messaged a girl's Snapchat from a dating app. It took all the courage I had, but I just told her I was attracted to her and I wanted to be physical with her.

She's almost 30 years younger than me, and drop dead gorgeous, and goth hot.

She's on her way over right now for our third "date".

Not saying this to brag, I'm saying maybe go browse a dating app and message hot chicks and see what happens. I still can't believe this is happening to me but it is.

If a racehorse owned by Krusty the Clown and Bette Middler can do it, anyone can.

Writing my letter of resignation, developing a Blender extension, and watching a streamer play Control (specifically the ashtray maze) for the first time.

My wife has a procedure Monday that requires me to get her there.

Tonight, a couple of beers. Then I stay up as needed.

She kept me sorted out when I had a procedure, I’ll do the same for her.

I stream every night. Just to keep myself up with the game, while doing something useful playing it, and also practicing English speaking.

Working on a musical composition in the style of Fugazi as a tribute to them.

Buzzed as well, on my laptop, trying to figure out why my xbps template is not working correctly.

What I would actually like to do is go out and find an alt girl to spend the night with, but that won't be happening tonight.
