For some reason there aren't many discussions about this part of Altman's interview in the WEF. He clearly says that apparently OpenAI and NYTimes were close to making a deal about displaying their content (like other publications), seems NYTimes bailed out for some reason. Also, Altman explicitly says that they have probably made some breakthrough that will enable the next GPT versions to be trained on much less high-quality tokens. Seems (I'm speculating) like they have combined the reasoning ability with training data somehow. If true, this might be the real breakthrough of this year. Not sure how training compute changes as a result.
