If you figure each engineer costs apple $250,000 a year, that’s the equivalent of 250 engineers. Could you imagine what apple could accomplish with 5 extra engineering departments? In what world is this one guy worth that much?

Our world!

You know, the Clown World timeline!

If we use our own criteria to evaluate Apple's success (and wage distribution), then it makes no sense from its very beginning. Just like with any company. EDIT: not started by us

I'm pretty sure that you could use one of those departments to fully automate management. Just go full data-driven and tie salaries to revenue. The engineers can take it from there, they're plenty smart

That poor, poor man. My heart goes out to him.

He's about to quit Netflix and avocado toasts SMH

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 41 points 10 months ago

Poor bastard. It's going to be a challenge living on an eight digit salary, making more in half a day than I do in a year...

[–] hdnsmbt@lemmy.world 32 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Poor guy. Better start a gofundme right now.

[–] maxprime@lemmy.ml 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You could buy an Apple branded polishing cloth. Pretty much the same as a donation.

[–] hdnsmbt@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I would but I'm afraid my android phone is not on the list of compatible devices 😞

[–] Mojojojo1993@lemmy.world 20 points 10 months ago

Better cut down on the avos then

[–] Mandy@sh.itjust.works 17 points 10 months ago

On no, poor man, how he can survive on this small Salaray which is more money than all of us in the comments will collectively see in our life in this miserably dystopia.

My cold dead heart goes out to the reptile.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago

Is Tim Apple going to be okay?

[–] PinkPanther@sh.itjust.works 15 points 10 months ago

Oh no, how will he live? He better pull himself up by the bootstraps and stop eating avocado toast.

Eat the rich!

[–] DampSquid 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I bet he still tastes great with some BBQ sauce on. Eat that fat cunt.

[–] ogginger43@infosec.pub 1 points 10 months ago

Would it even be cannibalism? I'm pretty sure all the billionaires are some form of reptiles.

[–] rickdg@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

That's why we don't see him wearing a vision pro. The poor guy can't afford it.

[–] paddirn@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Pffft, look at this loser over here, only making $63 million. Maybe he'll have to start cutting back on the avocado toast to make ends meet now.

[–] AgentGrimstone@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Someone make him a gofundme

waaay less of a drop than apple's prestige and UX quality since jobs

[–] rottingleaf@lemmy.zip 3 points 10 months ago

He's almost too poor for having a private army now.

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

He is so cool like jobs. He was able to give one dollar extra to 63million of his employees. So generous!

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

No wait that's 161,000 employees so that's $391 dollars each!

At my work, they gave us 500 bucks each plus a couple of days off. That guy, what a fuckin clown 🤡.
