Body shape looks mildly like the thrip species in my area, but Ive never seen a solid black thrip before.

Do you see any type of leaf damage at all? Light colored snail-trails, white or light green dots or spotting, etc?

There is a few spots in your photo that could possibly be pest damage, but just as easily could be water reflecting oddly or damage from light burn, or accidental leaf bumping

There's definitely brown spots and some yellowing tips. I started seeing some smaller white bugs that were oval shaped too.

If you have bugs, and dont want to risk it, you could try something generically effective like neem oil, or a citric acid mix, to be safe.

Just make sure you are careful with your lighting when you treat your plants with it. Most essential oil pesticides cause phototoxicity when wet, and nothing is worse than giving yourself a new problem while solving another
