In my opinion, the only games that are acceptable on mobile are turn-based games. They're a great home for tb tactics games like Shining Force, and FF Tactics. Also card games and puzzles of course.

FTL is probably the best.

Only thing I play more on my iPad is ported older computer games, like Rome:Total War

Problem with this, even with a great tablet you lag the higher levels a LOT earlier than on PC. Last time I tried I was not able to really do anything 200+ on the tablet.

The Iron Marines games, Spartan Firefight, Pixel Gun 3d and, Huntdown. Some of these cost money but they are all pretty good.

Polytopia (Civilization-light, unbelievably addictive) is great on a large tablet. It was mindblowing to play it on a humongous 40" touchscreen I connected my phone to via a docking station - but it's still neat on a 10" tablet and even on a normal phone. The larger the screen, the better the experience though.

Another game that works extremely well on tablets is The Room, a highly polished mystery puzzle series. It's remarkable how natural it feels, with touch and motion controls being absolutely perfect for the types of interactions it offers. The PC port, while visually superior, is actually the less ideal way of playing it.

Some rhythm games, particularly Lanota, Phigros and Dynamix

Star Traders: Frontiers gets quite a bit out of the UI having a bit more space to breathe.

Unciv as well.

I had a lot of fun with Kingdom Two Crowns

Marvel Strike Force with hd graphics is quite good-looking and has nice animations. I wouldn't really recommend the game tho.

Slay The Spire. I couldn't on the phone, cards were too small and the wide aspect ratio didn't help, but i must've sunk well above 100hrs into it on the ipad mini.

Fallout Shelter is great on a tablet. Crying Suns and 60 Seconds/60 Parsecs are also pretty good.

Dunno, for me it's Warcraft rumble, even so I like more playing it on Bluestacks than on phone
