I am running the latest version of Cinnamon on my Arch desktop with the latest version of Firefox. However, I am not receiving notifications from websites that I have expressly enabled notifications on. For example, my Mastodon instance doesn't give me notifications when something has been favorited or boosted. For that matter neither does my Lemmy instance. I have given these instances the proper permissions to allow notifications and still nothing. This happens with some other websites but it is hit and miss.

As I am not so familiar with the innards of Cinnamon, would somebody be so kind as to point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Well, from someone else running Cinnamon on Arch Linux, browser notifications from the latest version of Firefox do work. Never had a problem with them, which I realise is unhelpful.

I was running Mint before I moved to Arch Linux, and I just moved my home partition over to the new system. Perhaps Mint writes some configuration file that Arch reads but can't create itself? It would be a home-directory file, not a system one, in that case.

Actually, I might be wrong there. They were working on Lemmy before the 0.18 updates - my screen used to get completely filled with them seemingly at random. Seems broken at the moment, though.

GAAAA! I tried running this website and of course it fucking works brilliantly yet I cannot get my Mastodon instance to show me notifications. Maybe I should just give up. LOL
