I always somehow find my way back to playing No Man's Sky. No matter what I do, game I play, activity inside or outside of gaming, NMS is always there to play and chill. Sometimes I go on creative and spend a week amassing the perfect color coordinated team of ships, crew, frigates, and freighter.

That and every content update we get for free!

Divinity Original Sin 2, Dark Souls 3 and RDR2.

Not a perfect game, but I consider The Tenants my casual ice breaker from time to time to reset my mind / fatigue from too much gaming or dedication to it.

Genuinely, there’s no game I’ve ever played consistently. I’ve binged the hell out of plenty, but at a certain point it’s time to stop. Going back doesn’t reignite the flame.

Dungeon Keeper 🖤

I've been coming to back to play it and it's 10 levels since 1997. I play it through probably every year or two years at a push. 🖤

With the Dungeon Keeper FX version still being updated I doubt I will ever not come back to it. I'm currently playing through now and I love it as much as I did in 1997. 🖤

Sims 3, AOE2, Theme Hospital, Skyrim, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Jurassic Park Evolution are other more basic answers. I play them obsessively for weeks and then suddenly not look at it again for ages but they're always in my game library ready.

Fire Emblem Three Houses. I keep picking different teams and making them different classes. An all magic team. A cavalry. I never get bored. This game is always on the back burner when I just want a game to mess with.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That game defines my whole childhood

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and all it's mods, i just can't seem to want/be able to leave the zone

For me it is Rimworld. Upon first installation it clicked immediately. Took an entire week off right from the start.

After a lengthy pause, I sometimes see myself browsing the miriads of mods on steam, just for fun. Only to find some I reeeeaaally like to test out, resulting in planning yet another new colony, yet another set of characters, yet another 10-20 hours just for this one game.

Streets of rage 2

[–] canexican1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Definitely not perfect but for me it's WoW and GW2

For me Roguelike games, now I'm going back again and again to play Astral Ascent.

It's like Hades but love it more as it has more replay value, multiple bosses and Heat system changes attack pattern of enemies.

Vermintide, and to an extent, Darktide. The gameplay loop is too damn addicting. I still play the occasional versus shooter here and there, but after almost 1000 hours, I still can't get enough of the tide series.

Skyrim - I never go to Whiterun to start Dragon born mission so no annoying dragons.

Ngl I always fond myself playing wow again

Insurgency sandstorm.

As a veteran it's one of those shooters that for some reason sticks.

I know there's more realistic ones out there.

But this one is pretty accurate and the weapons are varied, detailed and accurate.

World of Tanks. Far from a perfect game but it's so satisfying to drive and destroy tanks.

I often take breaks and with my hearing loss am now unable to play some things comfortably but I always go back to Warcraft 3 , Stellaris, and Warhammer.

[–] HLef@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Oh it’s far from perfect but on and off I just keep going back to Dragon Age Inquisition (Multiplayer).

8 years now.
