Start with original and then try redux some times later, use a historical approach

Remaster to make it more playable. I loved both versions but found the redux more polished

It's essentially a remaster. Different graphics. They changed a few areas. Better combat mechanics.

Better combat mechanics.

Except with the apes

Better to just go redux, gameplay, UI, and control improvements, it's better to experience the redux first instead of the original

Redux is the way to go with metro games. Also, ranger difficulty comes free in redux, which is the way the developers intended for you to play the game

I miss the original voice actor from non-redux

Isn’t metro 2033 redux essentially the original game but using the engine from the sequel? So somewhere between a remaster and a remake in a way if I recall correctly.

Ive started with 2033 redux since i dont have the original one so gameplay perspective if i have upgrades on a weapon do i loose them forever if i swap weapons or do i get them back if i swap back to same gun later

Redux is essentially 2033 but in the Last Light engine upgrade.
