genuinely baffled at how anyone can look at what's happened in Ukraine and be like "yeah let's do that"

like, Taiwan leadership can't all be huffing the "actually Ukraine is definitely winning!!" propaganda, right? ...right!?

It doesn't need to. If the deal they cut with the US nets them a wealthy life in a pretty place by a lake after all is said and done, it'll all've been worth it. And they might even actually get what they were promised!

I mean, look at that Chechen terrorist, the "president in exile" one, whatever the fuck his name was, he doesn't deserve one anyway.

I could be confusing him with the other guy

Zakayev. Dudaev ded.

It's doesn't matter what they think. What matters is they continue to lick the boot of their masters. They, like the leaders of Ukraine, are more than likely fine with sacrificing their people for a pat on the head.

[–] ihaveibs@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 year ago

Last I heard they were very much not, actually, but I haven't seen anything in a while.

How did they think having a pic of a child with a gun is a good look

[–] 201dberg@lemmygrad.ml 26 points 1 year ago

So long as the liberals support the "cause" the civilians, the women, the children, are being sent out to die for they will romanticize the shit out of it. They lap that shit up. They love those "fight to the last man, woman, and child" stories so long as it's someone else dieing for THEIR cause. There's no Taiwanese life they won't sacrifice to stick it to evil see see pee. There is not Ukrainian they won't hurl into a minefield to spite "Putler." They are vile creatures.

What the actual fuck. Ukraine is a model? Are you serious? I thought Russia was the aggressor here. And that the atrocities are mounting. A model for how to destroy the lives of millions for decades to come?

And then training a child to use a high powered rifle as part of the model? Jesus Christ this is incredibly difficult to parse as a blunder. It looks like deliberate socialization of proxy war with open anticipation of complete devastation of the proxy.

Imperial settlerdom is a death cult, full-stop.

they are preparing the public opinion for the coming war

[–] CriticalResist8@lemmygrad.ml 26 points 1 year ago

They really went with that picture with that headline huh

[–] areyoulessthan@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 1 year ago

I doubt anything will actually happen between China and the Taiwan authorities, but that's just my take.

[–] EuthanatosMurderhobo@lemmygrad.ml 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, there have been signs of ukrainization, if you will, of Taiwan throughout SMO, and Amerikkka is definitely interested, so this is, unfortunately, not surprising.

[–] PoY@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well the plans have been laid for decades now so it's not a surprise to anyone.

I was just hoping CPC would manage a peaceful resolution and now it be lookin like Ukrainian experience will be directly implemented there. They still might, I suppose, but I'm all out of optimism.

Peaceful solution is basically impossible when USA have a hand so deep there.

This war will last less than the Combine invasion.

PSA for all countries: please get rid of all your compradors, at the very least confiscate and burn their passports.

Western media: Taiwan beefing up to fight the mainland

Taiwan green media: Putin is finished, US is building forces to attack the mainland

Sounds like both sides, puppet and master, expect the other to be the fodder in this war they want to start

The Ukrainian strategy of...losing all your troops and a quarter of your territory?

[–] Rasm635u@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 year ago

beef up military

Reminds me of this quote

laughter Your weapons are pitiful against ME. You are nothing but an ant, trying to bite at the toes OF A GOD

Their face when they realize that Ukraine depleted western ammo and old equipment stocks and the plan to refill them will take 30 years.
