Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this. I couldn't find a big community specifically for Lemmy.

I'm trying to upload a video and it seems there is no direct video upload. You can upload images and Jiffs which is not an option for me. Then I found out about Pixel Feed and uploaded my video there and linked to it. The problem is that there is no embedded player so users would need to switch sites which is not that great. How can I make the video be playable inside Lemmy?

I dont know why it is not implemented yet but I hope due to the increase of devs we will have an embed player soon. I think they dont do that because hosting videos is expensive but could be solved by using third party hosting or more fediverse stuff? Idk

Lemmy.World doesn't host videos or have an embedded player.

I saw a comment a while back that mentioned an instance that does but I can't remember if it was Kbin or sh.itjust.works.
