It's a trick question. Tolkien's works are also antidepressants.

21/24
I should be ashamed for not knowing all the kings of Gondor
Some are really challenging, my score was lower...
19/24, one of the accents threw me off. Also some of these are just wrong - sildenafil (Viagra), amantadine and at least one more are not antidepressants at all, and a few of the remaining ones are truly super obscure. "Introduced in Russia in the late 60s", "Indian antidepressant from 1982", "Formerly marketed in Spain and Marocco" etc
Viagra is an antidepressant in a very indirect way, in that you usually feel quite a bit happier after making use of its effects!
At first I thought you were talking about something like whatever-iazid, the first "antidepressant" that was actually an antibiotic and the antidepressive effect was completely accidental. But yeah, I suppose that makes sense, too.
The fun fact there is that Viagra was developed as heart / blood pressure medicine, its effect on blood flow in other areas was a happy coincidence!
For the purposes of the quiz just being a drug of some sort is probably close enough to add a few more rounds. One might also argue that Viagra makes a peen harder to depress? Anyway if they didn't put in fake Tolkien names or names from other authors I figure it's fine.
22 of 24. Yeah, I know too much antidepressants...
Same score as me, but my first thought was that I know too much about LOTR
Though I only guessed on a couple
Perhaps I also know too many antidepressants
For me it's both...
I would have done way better if they only used the chemical name. Instead it seemed like mostle a mix of non-proprietary names and trade names.
Wow, 14/24 that was more difficult than I thought. TBF I haven't fully reread the Silmarillion since Middle School, but I didn't expect it to be quite this hard.
I have the same score!
Some of the names were really similar
16/24, that shit got hard
Agreed! Got the same score as you btw 🤜🤛
9/24, how is this possible lmao
19/24 I see an É and I assume Tolkein. Oh well.
Me too... I was so sure about "Clélial" and instead...
18/24 and I've never even finished reading LotR or gotten around to getting an antidepressant prescription. I did borrow the Simarillion from the library for months though, opened it a couple times but never got around to reading it. I just know a little bit about Tolkien's linguistics and the way drug brand names work, but I got scared once I got one wrong.
20/24 - with some luck
17/24, the extended marathon is overdue, that's probably why
While an extended version marathon is always due, it won't improve your score here. Lord of the Rings (books and movies) don't cover most of the characters.
Absolutely, was just talking about not being in the loop, but the books are on queue too ^^ (not only lord of the rings)
Yeah, I've read the books and watched the movies, but still only got 12/24, or exactly the same as I'd expect to get by picking answers at random.
18/24, nice one
19/24, mostly by luck than knowledge of LOTR.
24/24, cos while i dont know any antidepressants, i do know my tolkien... :)
Literally half or more of the drugs aren't antidepressants...
I got 15/23. I refuse to take the point on successfully guessing "Bilbo" because that was a freebie
Pilbo
19/24 that was fun
