I thought this was going to be a technical article explaining the background and how it was achieved.

Instead it's a hit piece of a blogger who is suspicious about this "feat".

coming from an iphone, this update style really frustrates me.

I thought the Pixel 8 had been shipping with 14 for a while, and I presume the other manufacturers get beta releases of the software so they can release soon after the official release. Is there anything special about 14 anyway? I finally got a new phone and it has 13 which I figured was fine. My old phone with Android 7 is physically near falling apart.
