Eat their pizza and unionize anyways
My boss be like: "Don't you want some company products instead? Maybe those from last year? It's more valuable. Just look at our financial statements, it's worth...oh.. (we already wrote that off).., but if you had to pay for it... last year (when we couldn't sell them)... They'd be worth... something ?... Oh come on. We are family!"
I be like "Yes, sure boss, I agree to use the company products for exposure. Yes , boss I'll eat your pizza for socializing with the "family", but boss... I'll also want to utilise those terms you already signed with the union, because that's my money there."
They have us all working from home now, so we don't even get a pizza. We get a coupon for a discount off some bullshit generic version of Door Dash
Don't forget to complain about them getting it from a cheap chain.
We're a family here has to be my trigger phrase when it comes to corporate culture.
I assume the guy is a stock photo, but in case anyone else is trying to figure out where you've seen this guy before, like myself, where I most recognize him from is his use in "The Open House"; a horror game where you play as a potential home buyer, and his picture is used as the realtor. It's a fairly simple looking, point-and-click style game iirc. A sort of interesting concept but I haven't played it myself, just seen a couple videos on YouTube a while back.
