I favor kbin personally, but social having DDoS protection on is annoying. I've moved over here from my old lemmy instance though. We'll see.

I am. I even have an account on it, assuming Stux didn't wipe the user database when he moved it from u.fail.

Which it appears he did.

The ActivityPub implementation of /Kbin is better, but the Network is still in an early development phase.

Moreover, the integration of Mastodon could be a nice thing.

But currently kbin.social has DDoS protection on, that’s why the federation won’t work at the moment.

So, I would stay with Lemmy atm.

That's a matter about the kbin.social-instance, not about kbin as a software 🤔

Are you able to join magazines from other kbin-instances like !kayb.ee@kayb.ee using ufail?

I was just able to pull up the community/magazine through the search using the URL: https://kayb.ee/m/kaybee

Hit subscribe and the counter went up on their end, so it looks like it's working fine.

Kbin just being one guy versus an active open source project

Yeah it's unfortunate but with the way everything is structured, it doesn't matter. They can do whatever they want over at lemmy.ml
